American singer and pop icon Taylor Swift, who shook the music industry with a phenomenally successful tour, was named TIME magazine’s 2023 Person of the Year on Wednesday.

She succeeds Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky, who embodied his country’s resistance to the Russian invasion.
“A lot of something [Taylor] Swift’s achievements in 2023 are immeasurable […] “She was committed to giving value to the dreams, feelings and experiences of people, especially women, who felt neglected and routinely undervalued,” said magazine editor-in-chief Sam Jacobs.
At 33, the country singer adds a new award to a long list of achievements and records. Their albums or their new releases often occupy the top positions of the American charts, as is currently the case with “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” at the top of the Billboard 200.
