On the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, several shots were fired at a house on Saint-Hyacinthe Street in the Hull-Wright sector.
The bombing of the home could have had tragic consequences, Gatineau police said, emphasizing that bullets entered the home where small children live. Fortunatly nobody was hurt.
However, it turns out that the property was occupied by two brothers known in police circles until a few months ago.
These two men were also attacked last week as he sat in a vehicle on Eddy Street in the Hull area. One of them was shot and called police when he reached the Lac-Leamy Casino, just a few miles from the scene of the shooting.
Police then arrested a suspect, Domenic James Edward Fortun, who faces multiple charges, including attempted murder.
The police have assured that they will do everything possible to arrest and charge those responsible for this armed violence.
“Both events endangered children, citizens with no criminal history and who have nothing to do with the criminal world. During the murder attempt last week […] A mother and her children were walking down the street nearby. This time it is a family that is in danger in their home,” complained Patrick Kenney, spokesman for the City of Gatineau Police Department.
The police assured that they would have a greater presence in the neighborhood.
