Ranbir Kapoor's 'Animal' shows no signs of slowing down at the box office. The film has grossed ₹37 crore at the Indian box office in all languages on day 9, Sacnilk reported. This takes the total collection of Sandeep Reddy Vanga's directorial works to ₹398.53 crore. “Animal,” which has a runtime of over three hours, also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol and Triptii Dimri. Apart from Ranbir's action-packed avatar, fans also have Bobby Deol's villain in the film. Animal, which hit theaters on December 1, had a run-in with Vicky Kaushal's Sam Bahadur at the ticket counter.
Trading analyst Taran Adarsh has stated that Animal achieved an “exceptional performance” in Week 1. Taran Adarsh shared a picture of Ranbir Kapoor's character in the film and tweeted: “Sensational results in week 1… 3rd biggest *7 days* ever.” Biggest *7 days* total for a film not on public holidays. In his review for NDTV, film critic Saibal Chatterjee gave 'Animal' 1.5 stars. He said: “The sickeningly violent father-son action drama rarely pauses to take a breath. “Animal” is the kind of movie that wants us to believe that it's no big deal for a loving son to get angry when it comes to taking action against those who threaten the well-being of his father and two sisters. With danger seeming to lurk around every corner for the family, he has the license to be as rude as he wants to be.” For Ranbir Kapoor, he added, “Ranbir Kapoor delivers a powerful performance, delivered by Anil Kapoor with usual panache However, since the film is driven primarily by problematic means and instincts, the efforts of the two stars can only fail. You want to look away when these two are hawking their wares.”
