Six people were injured in a serious accident involving three cars on the highway in front of the Valcartier military base on the night of Saturday to Sunday.
The accident occurred shortly before midnight on Saturday on the Bravoure highway near the military base in Saint-Gabriel-de-Valcartier. Traffic will be closed there until further notice so that the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) investigators can carry out their work, as the journalist from the QMI Agency reported on site.
This could potentially be a criminal accident caused by driving under the influence of alcohol or other substances.
Four people suffered minor injuries but were still taken to hospital together. Another person suffered somewhat more serious injuries, while the person who caused the accident was taken to hospital with serious injuries. His health status is still unknown.
According to the QMI Agency correspondent on the scene, rescuers used recovery pliers to free the person who caused the accident, who was stuck in his vehicle for almost an hour.
A total of three ambulances were deployed at the scene of the accident.
The SQ investigation continues to determine the exact circumstances of the event.
