After four years without a relationship due to disagreements, Record and CNN Brasil became friends. Edir Macedo's channel began conversations with Rubens Menin's channel to exchange content and establish other relationships.
This Sunday (10) a seal of new friendship was demonstrated. Record published the participation of Reinaldo Gottino from Balanço Geral SP for the Domingol sports program led by Benjamin Back.
Gottino debated Palmeiras' title, his favorite team and where he works as a consultant. Other opportunities could also arise in the coming months, such as the transmission of exclusive images.
CNN and Record have not spoken because of Douglas Tavolaro, former CEO of CNN and former vice president of journalism at Open TV.
Tavolaro was considered an executioner because when he founded CNN in 2019, he promised not to hire any important names from Record to the network.
Tavolaro rightly called Gottino, which angered the bishops of the Universal Church and Edir Macedo himself, about whom Tavolaro wrote his biography. Gottino returned to Record in May 2020, shortly after CNN Brasil went on the air.
The partnership with the entrepreneur Rubens Menin did not end amicably either. Because Tavolaro and Menin were dissatisfied with the results and cost of the operation, they quarreled and he left CNN Brasil, with the Menin family buying their share of the company's shares.
With Tavolaro no longer at CNN, Record sees no problem in building a relationship with the news network.
