In 1992, a young singer named Daniel Bélanger emerged. After developing within the group Humphrey Salade, he released his first album, Les insomniacs s'amusent, at the age of 31. A loyal audience immediately loved his songs, which stood out from anything heard in Quebec at the time. He would sell tons of albums.

At the 1994 ADISQ Gala, Daniel received four Félix awards, including Singer-songwriter of the Year. A year earlier he also won the trophy for best pop-rock album of the year. His songs Opium, Ensorcelée, La Folie en Quatre and Sèche tes Pleurs, polished to perfection, became classics.

After the phenomenal success of his first album, Daniel released a second album, Four Seasons in Disorder, in 1996, which confirmed his immense talent. In less than a week, the album went gold and was certified platinum (more than 100,000 albums sold) just a few months after its release.
