On Sunday, a Frecciarossa TGV and a regional train collided. The rescue operations are over.
Seventeen people were slightly injured in a low-speed collision between two trains in northeastern Italy on Sunday evening, firefighters and the Italian railway company said. The accident caused significant traffic delays in the area.
“Collision between a (TGV) Frecciarossa and a regional train on the Bologna-Rimini route, between Faenza and Forlì,” firefighters said on GMT, saying relief operations had been completed.
The accident resulted in “minor injuries, I would say bruises.” There were no serious injuries, the collision occurred at very low speed,” a Trenitalia spokesman told AFP. Investigations are underway to determine the causes of the accident, he said. Photos and videos posted on social networks show two trains fighting against each other, and emergency services intervene.
