Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson took to social media on Sunday to remember her late sister Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell.
The 29-year-old reality TV personality passed away Saturday evening after a month-long battle with adrenal cancer.
Thompson told her 1.1 million followers: “This is a post I wish I didn't have to write.”
The 18-year-old star shared a family portrait with a heartbreaking caption mourning the new loss.
“Last night we all surrounded Anna with love and told her it was OK to leave.” Unfortunately, Anna took her last one around 11 p.m [breath],' She said.

Cardwell (R) died Saturday evening, according to her mother, Mama June Shannon. She had been battling stage four adrenal cancer for months
Thompson told her 1.1 million followers: “This is a post I wish I didn't have to write.”
The note continued: “Anna was in so much pain last night but now as a family we all know she is at peace now.” “I really don't know what to say as my heart is completely broken.”
The student said: “It wasn't easy watching my 29-year-old sister battle this terrible disease last year.” Anna was a fighter and still is. “Lord, please wrap your arms around her two babies and our family, for in the next few days this will all become a reality.”
She continued that her older sister waited until she got home to make the transition.
“I'm so glad you waited until I was home to take your last breath!” I would have loved for you to watch me graduate from college, but I know you'll be cheering me on forever in heaven !' she said in the caption.
“We will all ensure that your legacy lives on forever.” And I promise that we will always celebrate our birthday as if we never left! The sky looks a little different today. “We will always love you, Anna,” Heartbroken Honey Boo Boo added.
And finally she said, “You hit me hard with his, Anna, but I know it.” [you’re] Now in a better place and pain free forever!'

Jessica “Chubbs” Shannon, 27, also took to her social media platform to mourn her sister.

Mama June was the first to announce the devastating news when she shared the same family portrait as Honey Boo Boo
“It's hurting everyone so say it but we lost @annamarie35 last night!”
“It's hard to believe my sister is dead, she was so young and had a bright future here. “She will always be with us and we love and miss her already!!' She wrote to 342,000 followers.
She asked, “Make sure our family and these two stay cute.” [babies] from her in your prayers!!
“Anna, I love you and just know we have Katilyn and Kylee for you,” she said in tribute to her sister.
The girls' aunt, Jo Shannon, also acknowledged the family's loss with a post about her niece.
“It is with heavy hearts that we as a family announce the passing of @annamarie35 Anna Marie Cardwell.
“She passed away last night surrounded by her family and had a loving, peaceful transition.” Heaven gained an angel and it was her [greeted] of all her loved ones who died before her.'
“Please keep her husband, children and the rest of the family in your prayers as we navigate the next few days. “She loved the fans and all the love you have shown throughout this difficult process,” she finished before she added: “#CANCERSUCKS.”
Cardwell leaves behind two young daughters; Kaitlyn, born in 2012, and Kylee, born in 2015
Cardwell previously revealed that she was suffering from stage four adrenal cancer.
Mama June, 44, was the first to announce her daughter's death in an Instagram post on Sunday.
Two days before her grim announcement, the reality star asked her fans on social media to pray for her sick daughter.
“It is with broken hearts that we announce that @annamarie35 is no longer with us,” June began her post. “She passed away peacefully in my home last night at 11:12 p.m.”
