The rocket takes revenge

The day after a 4-3 loss to the Hartford Wolf Pack, the Laval Rocket got revenge against the same team by winning 5-1 at Place Bell on Saturday.

While shorthanded, Brandon Gignac took advantage of a two-on-one run and scored the winning goal at 6:03 in the second period. The striker beat Olof Lindbom with a perfect shot into the top half.

Montreal Canadiens junior Riley Kidney took matters into his own hands, collecting two goals and an assist for three points. It was the latter who equalized the score at 1-1 at the start of the first period by using the rebound from defender Logan Mailloux's throw, which initially only hit the post.

The fans present at Place Bell also used this goal to throw stuffed animals onto the ice rink.

CH's 2021 second-round pick also gave his team a 3-1 lead about two minutes after Gignac's goal. Arber Xhekaj in particular received an assist in this series. The 1.85 meter tall guard ended his workday with a rating of +1.

Nolan Yaremko and Jared Davidson were the other Rocket players who made the difference, while Blake Hillman provided the answer for Hartford.

Jakub Dobes had a good performance and stopped 24 of the 25 pucks aimed at him.
