The US has called on Beijing to stop its “dangerous and destabilizing” actions in the disputed South China Sea after a Philippine boat and a Chinese coast guard ship collided near a disputed coral reef.
“These actions reflect a reckless disregard not only for the safety and livelihoods of Filipinos, but also for international law,” State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said, adding that the U.S. is calling on Beijing to “play by the rules and to refrain from his dangerous and destabilizing behavior.”
