Forró singer Luide Pereira Gonçalves has died on the morning of last Saturday the 9th after the vehicle he was in collided with a truck. According to the Bahia Federal Highway Police, the accident occurred after one of the vehicles attempted to change lanes. However, it was not specified which of the two drivers attempted the maneuver. The accident occurred on the BR116 near the town of Manoel Vitorino in southwest Bahia.

According to local blog Sul Bahia News, Luide died at the age of 48 and leaves behind a daughter. He would even drive from Teixeira de Freitas, the town where he lived, to Jequié, where he would pick up his daughter to spend the school holidays together.

The singer was driving a Hilux pickup and crashed into a truck. According to the PRF, the driver of the other vehicle was uninjured in the accident.

Luide was not only a singer in the trio Xote Novo, but also a businessman in the region. His wake began on Sunday the 10th and continued until the funeral, which took place on the morning of Monday the 11th, at the Jardim da Saudade cemetery in the city where he lived.
