One of Sex Education's main stars has landed a starring role in a BBC comedy show just three months after the hit Netflix series ended.

The Living star joined the cast of six-part series Daddy Issues, in which she plays party-loving Gemma, who becomes pregnant after accidentally joining the Mile High Club on the way back from a holiday in Portugal.

When things get difficult, Gemma turns to the only person left in her life: her father Malcolm (played by David Morrissey), who despite his good heart is somehow useless.

As the father-daughter duo bond during their unfortunate vicissitudes, Malcolm moves into Gemma's apartment.

It promises to bring to the screen everything from dating disasters to failed romances, from toxic friendships to chaotic family dynamics, and ends with a “dangerously sociopathic prenatal teacher.”
