Season 10 of “La Voix”: A coach could have no candidate in the finale – TVA Nouvelles

The 10e Season of The voice This makes the coaches particularly nervous: the cross semi-finals mean that the last two candidates from each team will not fight among themselves, but against candidates from other teams, it was announced to the media at a meeting with host Charles Lafortune and the coaches Roxane Bruneau, Corneille , France D'Amour and Mario Pelchat.

If there are only four participants left, one coach may have no candidate in the final and another may have two candidates in the final stage. The semi-finals will be filmed this Thursday and there are only 10 days of production left until the end of this season, which will have no live stages.

The battle songs were canceled because we no longer wanted to give certain candidates a pass. During the qualification, which will be replaced by a new stage, everyone will fight for their place in the semi-finals.

Among other changes, blind auditions will select 40 candidates instead of 48, meaning 10 per team, allowing more time with each individual on screen.

20 duels will be played over three Sundays. Each trainer is only allowed one flight and they cannot save any of their candidates this year.

We have also improved the voting formula by taking advantage of the absence of live broadcasts. From the semi-finals, in which Marilou will be a guest, the voting process will again be entirely reserved for the studio audience, an audience of 101 neutral people who have no connection with the candidates or the coaches. They vote without hearing the singers first to ensure that the performance takes precedence.

Roxane Bruneau is funny as hell

Roxane Bruneau is very funny in the excerpts from the first show of the season shown to journalists on Monday. She takes her place and teases the other trainers. For her, the most important thing was to remain authentic.

What she loves most is the human experience on The Voice. “The entire production team is made up of independent and strong women. I feel well packaged. And there’s a lot of family energy between the coaches. When I sit in my chair, I feel like we're all sitting at the kitchen table playing Clue.

Seven years ago, Roxane Bruneau was still working at a Pizza Hut and came into the room as an audience member for the blind auditions. She says she never had the “courage” to embark on the adventure as a candidate. “I wasn’t there!”

The one, who just released the album Submerged and is currently appearing on TVA's Indéfendable, says she “admires” her contestants – “some of whom are really young” – for getting into one at such a young age Such production has been allowed in ages.

“At the beginning of my career I was so scared, I was terrified, it needed certain conditions. Here you learn new songs every week, perform, there is a lot to learn. Personally, the show gives me a lot of confidence when it comes to television, it’s very rewarding.”

Mario Pelchat likes to make talent shine

For his part, Mario Pelchat is in his second year as coach at La Voix. Last year it was her contestant Sophie Grenier who won the competition at the age of 17. In the grand finale of La Voix she will release her first album and present a song. She has written all the lyrics and has a vision of what she wants to do, her coach said.

“Last year was unknown for me as a coach. This time I let myself go with my comments and draw on last year's experiences. The biggest benefit it brings me is the discovery of artists, it feeds me a lot artistically. I have always enjoyed shining a light on others. I think I enjoy that more than singing myself.”

La Voix's first show airs Sunday, January 21st at 7pm on TVA. On the Sunday before, the station will simultaneously offer a special episode to mark the 10th anniversary of the competition.
