Resolution on Gaza at the UN General Assembly

After the failure of a ceasefire resolution for the Gaza war in the World Security Council, the UN General Assembly wants to deal with a similar project this Tuesday (from 21:00 CET). The text of the resolution presented by Egypt calls, among other things, for a humanitarian ceasefire. A pass is considered very likely. However, UN General Assembly resolutions are not binding, but only symbolic.

At the end of October, the UN General Assembly passed a resolution to improve the humanitarian situation and call for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. The most powerful UN Security Council, whose resolutions are binding, also passed a resolution on Gaza a few weeks ago, but it has already failed twice. Among other things, last week there was no agreement on a draft resolution presented by the UAE for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire, as the US vetoed it.
