“I hate it when people say bad things about Toronto like they know what they’re talking about,” the 32-year-old athlete wrote on his X account. If you have ever lived in Toronto, you know how much this special place and how passionate its citizens are.”
I hate seeing people talk shit about Toronto like they know. If you live in Toronto, you know how special a place is and how passionate the people are #GeauxCanada #GeauxBlueJays 🇨🇦🇨🇦

On Saturday, Ohtani used his free agent status to join the Dodgers. It seems that the Blue Jays finished second in the race with the coveted Japanese.
The day before Ohtani's signing was announced, thousands of fans spread a fake news report that he was on a plane to Toronto. This all led to a lot of negative comments about the city of Ontario.
Gausman joined the Blue Jays in December 2021 after signing a five-year contract. That year he had a record of 12-9 and an ERA of 3.16. He was a finalist for the Cy Young Award in the American League.
