At least 51 people were injured in a Russian missile attack on Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, this Tuesday (13). According to Ukrainian authorities, the bombing caused damage to homes and a children's hospital.

According to the head of the country's military administration, Ukraine's air defense system was activated and managed to shoot down all missiles aimed at the capital. This was the second Russian attack on Kiev this week.

However, falling debris caused destruction in three districts of Kyiv. In Dniprovskyi, houses and residential buildings were damaged, more than 30 people were injured and 15 had to be hospitalized.

In addition, windows and entrances of a children's hospital in the same district were destroyed by falling rocket fragments. According to initial information, no one was injured in the institution.

Emergency services were called to help the victims.

Zelensky's trip to the United States comes a few days after the American Congress refused to provide Ukraine with more money.

Together with the Ukrainian, President Joe Biden appealed to Congress about the importance of continuing to support Ukraine against the Russian invasion.

“Congress must approve aid before the holidays before giving Putin the biggest Christmas present he can give,” Biden said.
