“Hollywood Legends” takes place from Thursday to Sunday in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, and on Monday thousands of iconic objects will be introduced to the press.

“These objects are now viewed as a category of assets rather than just memories or a moment in our lives,” Martin Nolan, managing director of auction house Julien's Auctions, told AFP.

“It's a lot more fun than stocks or bonds or a lot of other things you have in your investment portfolio,” he pointed out.

These “assets” include a model of the alien's head from ET, Steven Spielberg's cult film, the price of which, according to Martin Nolan, could reach a million dollars.

For the Coen brothers' cult film “The Big Lebowski,” the bathrobe worn by the character played by Jeff Bridges is said to cost $50,000.
