Toy grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and became interested in the film industry from an early age.

He moved to New York City, where he was one of the founding members of the Nada Theater.

Toy eventually moved to Los Angeles, where he quickly became a fan favorite in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, playing some of the series' most famous monsters.

He played The Gentleman in the Emmy-nominated Season 4 of the series “Hush” in 1999 and appeared in five episodes of the show's seventh and final season.

He appeared in his heavy prosthetics so often on the show that star Sarah Michelle Gellar claimed she never saw his actual face until a producer showed him a photo.

Toy played Gnarl in an early episode of season seven and appeared as an Ubervamp in four additional episodes that season.

He was also cast in the Buffy spin-off Angel, in which he played a new character named Prince of Lies.

Other credits include The Insider's Guide to Film School, The Bay, Average Joe and a voice role in Call of Duty: Vanguard.

He also served as film editor on “Zen Noir” and a number of short films, and also worked on the editing team of other projects.
