A fundamental agreement was finally reached between the Air Transat company and its flight attendants' union, which was intended to put an end to the strike that had been threatening for several days.

The airline announced this on Thursday morning, stating that the details of the agreement to renew the collective agreement will be presented to members in the coming days.
According to Air Transat, travelers who feared a strike from January 3, 2024 can therefore breathe easy and “enjoy their travel plans in peace”.
The flight attendants union, which represents 2,100 members, had a very strong strike mandate, approved by 99.8%, arguing that working conditions needed to be reviewed.
“We are confident that the agreement will meet the expectations of our members. We look forward to presenting it to you. We should have the final result of the vote in early January,” Dominic Levasseur, president of CUPE’s Air Transat component, responded in a press release.
