Can they really be mean girls if they treat us so nicely? Reneé Rapp and Megan Thee Stallion have been released “Not My Fault” from the Mean Girls soundtrack (the movie and the musical). The collaboration's pretty pink cover was featured on – when else? – Wednesday, and shows the couple looking back at the camera, surrounded by mannequins with blonde hair. (“Meg told me to stick my ass out, so I'm sticking my ass out,” Rapp tweeted.) Rapp plays the role of the leader of the Plastics in the upcoming film, so she's an obvious choice for this song. But why did the Snow Angel singer collaborate with Tina Snow? Let Meg explain: “It's funny how the mean girl opens all the doors. I was told I was Black Regina George,” she raps.

The song title is a reference to a line from the original “Mean Girls,” which was adapted into the Broadway musical on which the 2024 film is based. “It's not my fault you're in love with me or anything!” Cady says to Janis. Hmm, what does this mean for the fan theory that Regina is a lesbian? All we know is that the lyrics to “Not My Fault” definitely don't feel straight, with Rapp declaring in the chorus, “You came with her, but she could go with me,” and elsewhere asking, “Can a gay girl.” get one?” Amen?” Amen!!
