At the end of a mediation process, an amicable agreement was reached regarding the bullying complaints against the MP Frédéric Beauchemin. The complaints will be withdrawn, Le Journal learned.

The member for Marguerite-Bourgeoys was targeted for bullying by the president of the PLQ Youth Commission and was expelled from the Liberal group in early October.
According to our information, the case was settled amicably at the mediation stage, which precedes the conduct of an investigation into the process of dealing with workplace harassment situations in the National Assembly. The identical complaint filed with the PLQ resulted in the same result, it is said. “By mutual agreement” between those involved, the complaints on both sides will be resolved.

Liberal MPs must therefore decide whether they want to accept MP Beauchemin back into their group or not. The PLQ elected officials were scheduled to be summoned today.
Our parliamentary office announced in October that MP Beauchemin, the Liberal leadership's sole candidate, and three of his political staff were the subject of a bullying complaint.
The complainant, Élyse Moisan, leader of the Young Liberals and parliamentary researcher for the official opposition, claimed to have been “in tears” after a meeting with the elected official.
In the document presented to the National Assembly and the PLQ, she claimed that she felt “harassed, intimidated and threatened” a few days later during a meeting with the three employees of the office of the member of Marguerite-Bourgeoys. They “demanded” his immediate resignation, “otherwise they would take the necessary measures” to achieve this.
“I have been the victim of bullying by these people several times. The deputy Frédéric Beauchemin is aware of this situation and has taken no action to stop this behavior, thereby creating a work environment conducive to situations of psychological harassment,” the complaint states.
For their part, five members of the PLQ youth board questioned the leadership of their new president elected in September.
Frédéric Beauchemin said he was convinced that the request was “unfounded” and would not be accepted.
Neither the MP for Marguerite-Bourgeoys nor the complainant returned our calls.
