Nicki Minaj rejected Kanye West's request to allow him to use her verse from her 2018 track “New Body” on his new album “Vultures.”
Despite the 46-year-old rapper's public appeal to 41-year-old Minaj, she ultimately scrapped the idea on her Instagram Live channel, pointing out that she didn't want to redirect the momentum from her album Pink Friday 2 to his latest release , an upcoming collaborative project with Ty Dolla $ign.
“As for Kanye, the train has left the station, okay?” she said in the video. “Not disrespectful in any way.” I just released a brand new album. Why would I release a song that's been out for three years? Come on, boys.'
Her statement came shortly after he tweeted a screenshot of a text message between him and Minaj in which he asks, “Hello you guys, may I call you about clarifying new lyrics for the new album.”

The text apparently went unanswered.
West, Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign first recorded “New Body” five years ago, but the album was ultimately scrapped.
After Minaj's verse on “New Body” leaked and went viral on TikTok in 2020, West began to reconsider his decision not to include it on his album.
“The public loved New Body,” Minaj told Hot 106 last year. “New Body is the biggest hit record that never came out.” … Everybody knows that’s the hit that got away.”
While he never publicly responded to their song being a hit that had slipped through their fingers, rumors began circulating that he would be featured on Vultures after a listening party in what looked like the 2018 version of the song klang” was played in Miami, according to Page Six.
Earlier this week, West and Ty Dolla $ign announced their Vultures album rave in Las Vegas, which took place at midnight Thursday on S Decatur Boulevard.

After releasing her track Rock N Roll with Pusha T, Cudi tweeted, “I made this song a year ago when I was still cool with Kanye.”
“I don't think this man is cool.” He's not my friend and I only released the song for Pusha because that's my type. “This is the last song you’ll hear me on with Kanye,” he shot.
Cudi was previously so close to his 45-year-old ex-mentor that they co-headlined the Glow in the Dark Tour in 2008 and released an album together in 2018 under the name Kids See Ghosts.
