Mayim Bialik announced Friday that she is stepping down as host of “Jeopardy!”
In one post Taking to social media, The Big Bang Theory star wrote: “I have news on Jeopardy!. Sony has informed me that I will no longer host the syndicated version of Jeopardy!”
Bialik, 48, did not elaborate on the reasons that led to her departure. She said she was “honored” to receive an Emmy nomination this year for Outstanding Game Show Host and said she was “deeply grateful for the opportunity to be part of the Jeopardy! family.”
CBS News has reached out to Sony Pictures Television, which produces “Jeopardy!”, for comment but has not yet heard back.

In July 2022, Sony named both Bialik and Ken Jennings the winning contestant on “Jeopardy!” History, as permanent hosts of the show, with the two splitting the hosting duties.

The two were among several guest hosts who took turns filling in after longtime host Alex Trebek's death from cancer in 2020.
“Danger!” was the center of major upheaval in August 2021 when the show's then-executive producer Mike Richards was named permanent host along with Bialik, only to resign about a week later after previous inappropriate comments from him surfaced online.
In May, Bialik decided not to host the final week of the 39th season of “Jeopardy!” in solidarity with the Hollywood writers strike.
