NHL: Stamkos and Vasilevskiy carry the Lightning

Steven Stamkos and Andrei Vasilevskiy took charge of the Tampa Bay Lightning's 7-4 win over the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday night at Rogers Place.

Stamkos scored three goals in the last 20 minutes, most notably the equalizer. He completed his hat trick by giving his team a 5-3 lead before putting the strings into an empty net for the fourth time with seven seconds left in the game. The captain of the “Bolts” scored the first goal in the first third.

Vasilevskiy had an extremely busy performance, saving 50 shots on 54 shots. However, the same cannot be said for his Oilers counterpart, Stuart Skinner, as he dropped the flag five times out of his opponents' 22 attempts.

Nikita Kucherov, Anthony Cirelli and Tyler Motte also gave the visitors a red light.

This ends the streak of seven consecutive wins for the club from Alberta.

Connor McDavid and his teammates can only blame themselves as they led 3-2 with 13:12 left in the third period. In addition, the latter scored at least one point for the eleventh game in a row by scoring a 2-2 power play equalizer in the second period.

In addition to number 97, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Darnell Nurse and Zach Hyman provided the answer for the local favorites.

The Oilers host the Florida Panthers while the Lightning face the Flames in Calgary on Friday.

The merciless Kraken in front of the Blackhawks

In Seattle, the Kraken scored an easy 7-1 win against the Blackhawks and Connor Bedard.

Kailer Yamamoto scored two goals for the home team in the first half, his fifth and sixth goals of the season.

Taylor Raddysh responded for the Hawks early in the second period, but the Kraken secured the win with five unanswered goals.

Oliver Bjorkstrand (1 goal, 2 assists) also had a strong game for Seattle.
