Russia attacked Ukraine again overnight with several swarms of combat drones. There was an air alert over the eastern part of Ukraine just before midnight. The Ukrainian Air Force reported that aircraft loaded with explosives were moving in several waves towards the capital Kiev and the regions of Cherkasy, Zaporizhzhia, Kirovohrad and Mykolaiv.
Explosions heard in central Kiev
Kiev's air defense is in action, Mayor Vitali Klitschko wrote on Telegram. He also reported that explosions could be heard in the Podil district, close to the center. He later added that enemy aircraft were in the center. Kamikaze drones and explosions have also been reported in other parts of Ukraine.
In the morning it was said that air defense had shot down 30 of 31 drones in eleven regions. Kiev military commander Serhiy Popko said no one was injured by falling debris.
Moscow: 26 Ukrainian drones intercepted in Crimea
At the same time, Russia reported intercepting more than two dozen Ukrainian drones over Crimea last night. The Russian Defense Ministry said via Telegram that 26 unmanned missiles were destroyed on the peninsula in two hours.
