Homage to Guy Marchand, who toured with Pialat, Claude Miller and François Truffaut. He also loved music, especially jazz. He died on Friday, December 15, aged 86.
Guy Marchand played the famous detective Nestor Burma on television for ten years in around thirty episodes. Enough to maintain the popularity legitimately acquired in the cinema. He started in the motion picture industry in 1962 as a technical advisor to paratroopers on “The Longest Day.” The crowning achievement came in 1981: he won a César for the role of Inspector Belmont in the film Garde à vue. A few years later in L'Été enlope we find him gently trying to seduce Pauline Lafont.
A pop singer and car lover
He has made around sixty films on the big screen. Les Sous-doués shaped their era and enabled Guy Marchand to record the hit Destinée. The song was another of his talents, a crooner version. He had a self-confessed passion for tango. “I had my first sexual feelings at the age of 8 or 7, rolling around in ladies' fur coats,” he said. A great lover of women, he was also a car enthusiast, a passion that almost ruined him. The enthusiast's journey ended on Friday, December 15, at the age of 86.
