Barack Obama’s daughters enjoyed a heartwarming reunion – complete with dancing – outside Los Angeles airport on Wednesday after Malia was picked up by her younger sister Sasha.
The sisters, who both live in Los Angeles, were spotted doing a curbside pickup just over a week after Malia, 23, flew in from the airport. A source told she was headed to Atlanta, where her boss Donald Glover’s FX series Atlanta is being filmed.
Malia, a writer for Glover’s upcoming Amazon project, seemed thrilled to see Sasha, 20, and they showed their sisterly love as they danced in celebration of her return.

Footage of the moment shows the sisters jumping around and cheering for each other, saying “Yes Queen” over and over while waving their arms in the air.
When they finished dancing, they leaned in for a hug before packing Malia’s luggage into the back of the vehicle.
Malia, still wearing her face mask, wore the same baggy, button-up red cargo pants she wore on her flight out of LAX on Sunday, May 1st.
Her long micro braids were worn loosely around her shoulders and she finished off her look with white sneakers. Instead of a holdall, she carried a canvas tote bag from MA’O Organic Farms over her shoulder.
The bag may have been a souvenir from her family’s recent vacation to Hawaii or a gift from her mother, Michelle Obama, who visited the Waianae organic farm as First Lady in 2011.
Meanwhile, Sasha was the quintessential California girl in a cropped orange t-shirt, midi skirt and glasses, which she wore as she headed to the airport.

After helping her older sister with her luggage, she hopped into the front seat of her hatchback, which she outfitted with a fluffy pink steering wheel cover.
Malia was spotted alone at LAX on May 1 before her flight. She was photographed going through TSA and checking her own suitcase.
She relocated to Los Angeles to pursue her career as a screenwriter and was rumored to be working with Glover on his latest project, which he later confirmed.
In March, Glover shared that he had given Malia her first post-college job writing for his new Amazon series, and gushed that she was “incredibly talented” and “really focused.”
The multihyphenate, also known by his stage name Childish Gambino, was at the season 3 premiere of “Atlanta” when he spoke about recruiting the Harvard University grad to work on his latest project in the writers’ room.
“She’s just an incredibly talented person,” Glover, 38, told Vanity Fair of Malia. “She’s really focused and she works really hard.”
The actor is writing and producing the upcoming Amazon series – possibly titled Hive – which is rumored to be about “a Beyoncé-type character.”

Glover didn’t reveal how Malia – who did an internship on Lena Dunham’s HBO series Girls in 2015 and The Weinstein Company in 2017 – landed the job after graduating from college last year.
His younger brother Stephen Glover is also working on the upcoming Amazon project, and he said they’re interested in “hearing their stories and letting them work with them,” suggesting they approached them about the position could have.
Glover said he believes Malia has a bright future in the industry, telling the publication, “I feel like she’s just someone who’s going to have really good things soon.”
“Your writing style is great,” he added.
Malia also received praise from Stephan. The ‘Atlanta’ co-writer and executive producer praised her work ethic and ideas and said they were glad to have her on the team because of her perspective.
“Donald always says perspective is important, and people with different perspectives are important for a writer’s room. And she definitely has a unique perspective on everything,” he told Vanity Fair.
“So we wanted to hear their stories and let them work with us. Hearing their stories and engaging with them really gave us a lot of good ideas.”
While Malia works as a screenwriter, Sasha builds her own life in Los Angeles. She is reportedly a student at the University of Southern California after transferring from the University of Michigan

When asked how he turns down Malia’s pitches, he clarified that she doesn’t get special treatment in the writers’ room because of her parents.
“Well, you know, we just hurt her feelings. We can’t make it easy for her just because she is [former] the president’s daughter,” joked Stephan.
“Nah, she’s very down to earth and cool. So it’s not a problem at all,” he added. “She has a lot of good ideas. She’s gorgeous. She’s just a normal person like everyone else.’
Glover didn’t elaborate on whether Malia is accompanied by bodyguards at work, but he did describe her days in the writers’ room as a kind of therapy session.
“We just talk about how we’re feeling and what’s going on in our own lives, and so our work and all the shows we do become very personal in that way,” he said. “And at the same time it’s a lot of fun. We talk about everything and we’re honest and we come up with all sorts of ideas.’
