Israel and Hezbollah continue intense artillery battle in southern Lebanon

Since early morning, the Israeli army and Hezbollah militias have been engaged in heavy artillery attacks on Lebanon's southern border, with several attacks on Israeli positions and towns in the region. The clashes began at around 6am this morning and reached the Lebanese towns of Aitaroun, Jebbeïn and Majdel Zoun. In response, Hezbollah claimed responsibility for two attacks, one at 7:10 a.m. and one at 8:10 a.m. in Birket Richa, which left “dead and wounded” in Israeli ranks, without giving further details. Next, Israel unleashed its artillery on the towns of Blida, Meis el Jabal, Houla, Rab el Thalathine, Khiam, Kfarkila and Hamames, also in southern Lebanon, Lebanese security sources reported in L'Orient le Jour. The Israeli army also announced in recent hours that two unmanned aircraft from Lebanon were intercepted by its air defense systems. Finally, this morning Hezbollah announced the death of one of its fighters, Radouane Ali Hamoudi, from the city of Tire, without specifying the date or place of his death. According to L'Orient le Jour's count, this is the 108th combatant killed since fighting against Israel began.
