An agent of the Israeli secret service Mossad, who focuses on foreign missions, was executed in the southeastern Iranian province of Sistan and Balochistan. This was reported by the official Iranian news agency IRNA. “This person,” IRNA reported, “communicated with foreign services, including the Mossad, collected classified information and, with the participation of employees, provided documents to foreign services, including the Mossad,” is the motivation that comes from the Irna agency emerges. According to IRNA, the executed man passed secret information to a “Mossad officer” with the aim of “carrying out propaganda for groups and organizations that oppose the Islamic Republic.” He did not make it clear where the alleged delivery took place. It was not clear when the person was arrested, but IRNA said an appeal had been rejected. The execution at a prison in Zahedan in the southeastern province of Sistan and Balochistan came a day after militants attacked a police station in the province, killing 11 security guards and wounding several others. According to state television, a state funeral for the men was held today in the town of Rask, where the attack took place. Two militants from the Jaish al Adl group were also killed in the ensuing clashes.
