According to a press report, the airline Eurowings, on behalf of all Lufthansa subsidiaries, demands total compensation of 740,000 euros from “last generation” climate activists due to their blockades at several German airports. Some of the defendants have already received payment requests, reports the newspaper “Bild am Sonntag”.
Transport Minister Volker Wissing announced in the previously published article that he would defend the strengthening of the aviation safety law in the face of incidents. He agreed on this with Justice Minister Marco Buschmann, also from the FDP.
“Blockades of airports with the aim of disrupting operations far exceed the limits of legitimate protest. These are also not trivial crimes,” said Wissing, quoted in “Bild am Sonntag”. An increase in punishment must occur as soon as possible.
