Tomas Tatar is now a member of the Seattle Kraken.

The Colorado Avalanche traded the forward on Friday night for a fifth-round pick in the 2024 draft.

The former Montreal Canadiens joined the Avs last September after signing a one-year deal worth $1.5 million.

The 33-year-old Slovakian has one goal and eight assists for nine points in 27 games with the Colorado team.

With the Kraken, Tatar will wear his sixth jersey in the National Hockey League (NHL). He also played for the Detroit Red Wings, Vegas Golden Knights and New Jersey Devils.

Shane Wright is back in the NHL

Seattle also recalled forward Shane Wright.

The NHL's 32nd team demoted forward Tye Kartye to the Coachella Valley Firebirds of the American League. She also placed Jaden Schwartz on the long-term injured list.

The 31-year-old veteran was injured in early December and will be out of action for a total of six weeks.

Back to Wright: The fourth overall pick in the 2022 draft is in his second NHL appearance this season. He failed to collect a point in the three games he played with the Kraken.

However, the 19-year-old Ontario native is doing very well for the Firebirds as he has nine goals and seven assists for 16 points in 18 games.

Remember, the NHL granted Wright an exemption last September so he could play on the developmental circuit even though he is a junior. Normally, players under the age of 21 must return to their club in the WHL, OHL or QMJHL if they are not playing on the Bettman circuit.
