United States: A car crashes into a vehicle in Joe Biden's procession on a visit to Delaware

A car collided with US President Joe Biden's motorcade this Sunday, December 17, as the Democrat, far from the scene of the accident, was leaving his campaign headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware, in the northeastern United States.

As Joe Biden left his campaign headquarters in Delaware and was returning to his SUV, a car crashed into a vehicle in the Secret Service procession this Sunday, December 17, several American media outlets report, including the Associated Press news agency.

In a video filmed and published on X by a Bloomberg journalist, we can hear the car ramming one of the vehicles in the presidential convoy. The American president, who was far from the scene at the time of the collision, was “safe” and uninjured, the Portal news agency said.

US President “safe”

Joe Biden and his wife Jill “simply returned home afterwards,” say our colleagues at Bloomberg.

The car, whose bumper was damaged, was quickly approached by two police officers, as seen in photos from Agence France Presse.

The AFP further states that members of the Secret Service (which ensures the protection of the American president) were also on site and “stormed” the car.
