It was a dominant half for the Eagles, who retained possession for most of the first two quarters thanks to two drives lasting more than eight minutes. The first came on the game's first possession, when Jalen Hurts – who battled illness to play in the game – took over the offense 75 yards down the field in 15 plays and capped it with his 13th rushing touchdown of the season . They scored a field goal on another drive with 8:26 remaining, extending their lead to double digits.
Seattle got off to a bit of a slow start to the day's offense with back-to-back punts under Drew Lock, who started in place of the active but still disabled Geno Smith. But shortly before halftime the team got going again and secured their first points of the evening with a field goal.
With a win, the Eagles would hold the No. 2 seed in the NFC heading into Week 16, but a loss would knock them out of first place in the NFC East and drop to No. 5 in the conference. Meanwhile, the Seahawks – seeded No. 9 as of Monday night – need to stay in the wild-card race and would move closer with a home win.
