Dr. Nick Coatsworth has been confirmed as Today Show host Karl Stefanovic's replacement for the Christmas period.
However, not all Today stars are reportedly happy with the decision.
According to The Australian, “many voices were divided” over the decision to send Dr. Casting Coatsworth as host.
Dr. Coatsworth is Australia's former deputy chief medical officer and is a regular medical contributor to Channel Nine.
Stefanovic's co-host Sarah Abo, meanwhile, will be replaced by regular Today Show reporter Mia Glover for the holiday season.

Emma Lawrence will also stand in for sports presenter Alex Cullen, while Richard Wilkins will replace entertainment presenter Brooke Boney.
Following Monday's announcement, some fans of the Today show called for Stefanovic to be replaced permanently.
“Please take a permanent break,” one wrote about Stefanovic’s time out.
“Complete overhaul needed,” another agreed, while someone else complained: “Hopefully it's permanent, only one who thinks he's funny is him. Poor co-hosts with their fake laughter.”

It comes as today's rival Sunrise prepares to take the crown in the 2023 breakfast ratings war.
This is the 20th year that Sunrise has ranked first in its timeslot, having placed first in the overall ratings poll last year.
According to the 2022 OzTam survey, Sunrise had an average national daily audience of 397,000 viewers.
Seven said it was “31 percent larger than its nearest competitor.”
Today has struggled to gain traction on Sunrise in recent years, partly due to the changing hosts of the Nine show.
