Jennifer Garland, the actor's representative, confirmed the death to The Hollywood Reporter and Entertainment Weekly.
The death was due to “natural causes”. on Nov. 28 in Los Angeles, but it wasn't until last weekend that the news became public.

“I had the pleasure of spending a lot of time with him in his later years I had no immediate familyGarland said in a statement.
“We spent a lot of time outside where Jack loved to draw and read news articles and recite Shakespeare sonnets,” he emphasized.
According to People en Español, Axelrod enrolled in acting school in 1960 after being a bookseller and architect.
In 1971, he got his first relevant acting job in Woody Allen's film Bananas.
The actor has appeared in many television series and films over the years, most notably in General Hospital as mafia boss Victor Jerome. On Grey's Anatomy, he played an elderly coma patient named Charlie Yost.
On the big screen he appeared in “Hancok”, “Super-8” and “Transformers: Dark of the Moon”, among others. His most recent work was in the film “Bad Therapy” in 2020.
