The year 2023 is coming to an end and this year, too, several big names from Quebec's artist colony have unfortunately left us in the last few months.

Here are 12 great misses of 2023 that we will miss:

1) Michel Coté

On April 7, 2022, Michel Côté announced in a press release that he would be withdrawing from public life indefinitely due to a bone marrow disease. Everyone hoped that the actor would get back in shape after this health crisis. However, on May 29, 2023, the family sadly announced his death.

2) Karl Tremblay

The news shocked all of Quebec: On November 15, Karl Tremblay, singer of the Cowboys Fringants, died of prostate cancer at the age of 47. He was diagnosed in January 2020, but announced the news two years later when he began chemotherapy. Then, in March 2023, his partner Marie-Annick Lépine, also part of the group and with whom he had two little girls, explained that the treatments were no longer working.

3) Denise Bombardier

On July 4, the announcement of Denise Bombardier's death surprised all of Quebec. The journalist, author and presenter died at the age of 82 as a result of devastating cancer. Her family knew she had health problems but were unaware of the severity of her condition.

4) Yvon Pedneault

Yvon Pedneault died on August 25th at the age of 77 as a result of devastating cancer. Immediately after his death was announced, several personalities expressed their condolences to the relatives of the sports journalist, who worked in the media for 60 years.

5) Louisette Dussault

Louisette Dussault died on March 14 at the age of 82, having suffered from Alzheimer's disease for several years. She leaves to mourn her twin daughters Ève and Paule and seven grandchildren. The actress captured Quebec's imagination with her role in the children's show La Souris Verte. Later she was Marilyn in the daily newspaper of the same name.
