The Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ) was called to the scene at around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday morning for “an accident and hit-and-run.” Once there, the police spoke to the demonstrators and the driver of the vehicle.
According to the SPVQ, no formal complaint was filed in this case and no protester was injured. According to the version shared with the SPVQ, the driver would have carried out this maneuver to get rid of the picket line that was preventing him from leaving the school where work was taking place.
Police also confirm that the driver did not drive into the protesters, as was expressed in comments following the online video.
