The Israeli army claims to have conquered Jabalya, a previously hotly contested Hamas stronghold in the northern Gaza Strip. His division “gained operational control” of the site, Israeli military commander Itzik Cohen said in a press release today.
Soldiers “killed hundreds of terrorists” in the fighting in Jabalya, and 500 suspected terrorists also surrendered there. Some of them were involved in the massacre in Israel on October 7th. According to its own statements, the army destroyed, among other things, command centers and missile production facilities in the area. The information could not be independently verified.
Quarter is considered an important Hamas base
The refugee district in Jabalja is considered a major base for the Islamic terrorist organization Hamas, which murdered around 1,200 people during its attack on Israel. The massacre triggered the war in Gaza, in which more than 19,600 people have been killed so far, according to the Hamas-controlled health authority.
The Hamas official said at least 13 Palestinians were killed in Israeli attacks on Jabalya. Yesterday it reported 110 deaths in Israeli air strikes on residential buildings there. The information could not be independently verified.
