A kitten abandoned by its mother was left to fend for itself. At the same time, volunteers came to the aid of other young kittens and their parents who were trying to protect themselves from the cold. Her patrons came up with the idea of gifting the first specimen to the cat family in the hope that she would accept it.

As the mercury drops, it becomes increasingly difficult for stray animals to find safe shelter that will provide them with some warmth. This was the case with a family of cats recently discovered on a road in Indiana in the United States. Her story is reported by The Dodo.
A litter of five kittens wanting to warm up settled on the hood of a parked car, taking advantage of the fact that the engine was still warm. Her mother was not far away and was constantly watching her. Passersby noticed this and contacted a local animal protection group, The Alliance for Responsible Pet Ownership (ARPO).

Volunteers from the organization arrived on site and cared for the 6 cats. They were arranging placement with a foster family when they received an urgent call. We explained to them that not far away someone had just discovered another stray kitten in distress.
The poor little creature had been abandoned by its mother, who had left the area with the rest of the litter. The kitten had found shelter under a porch.
The Alliance for Responsible Pet Ownership team picked him up. She introduced him to the small rescue cat family earlier, hoping he would fit in. That actually happened. The cat and her 5 little ones greeted him with open paws.

All members of this blended family are ready to move into their forever home
The volunteers gave them names inspired by characters from the series “Suits: Custom Lawyers”; Jessica Pearson for the mother and Harvey Spector, Louis Litt, Donna Paulson, Rachel Zane, Katrina Bennett and Mike Ross for the kittens.
The 7 four-legged friends no longer have to fear the harshness of winter or the dangers of the road. They lack nothing and have grown up in their host family under optimal conditions.

Now they are all ready for adoption. The Alliance for Responsible Pet Ownership will work to find them loving homes.
