Jonathan Van Ness updated fans on Tuesday about her recovery from recent surgery.

The 36-year-old Queer Eye star, who is non-binary and uses the pronouns he/him, she/her and they/them, took to Instagram Stories on Monday and Tuesday to update his 5.7 million followers about his latest developments to inform.

“Don’t worry, I’m totally fine,” the Quincy, Illinois, native said, showing off a bandage on his right hand where doctors had to “apply this little, like an IV” to administer anesthesia.

Van Ness, a transgender rights advocate, said they had “never been under anesthesia before” and the procedure was successful.

“When I got out of surgery – that went really well, guys,” Van Ness said. “I'll be great. 'I'll be fine – you know what I said?'

Van Ness referenced Jennifer Lopez's Maid in Manhattan from 2002, saying, “I woke up and said, Maid in Manhattan.”

“I literally woke up early to wash and blow dry my hair in case I fell dead on the table or something because I didn't want an undertaker to do that,” Van Ness said.

Van Ness, who heads hair care brand JVN Hair, praised her mane after the medical procedure, citing it as blow-dry milk.

“Look how good – is this the hair of someone who just came out of surgery?” Van Ness said. “They said the pain would be bad tomorrow. “Oh my god, but my hair looks great.”

Van Ness said they were told to take it easy over the next seven days while they recovered.

“Basically I just need to rest and not do any strenuous activity for literally a week – a long time for me,” Van Ness said.

Earlier this year, they made a cameo appearance in the Robert De Niro and Sebastian Maniscalco comedy About My Father. They have also done extensive voice work in recent years for animated projects such as I Heart Arlo, MODOK and Arlo the Alligator Boy.
