At one point I heard my mother say, “This nonsense about girls having to marry as virgins.” I was 11 or 12 years old and this thing stuck with me. There is a German saying that says: “A virgin until marriage or until the grave.” My mother said it was unfair and stupid. My mother was very advanced and so was my father.
