China provides emergency funds for road rehabilitation in earthquake hit areas

BEIJING, Dec. 20 (Xinhua) — The Chinese government on Wednesday allocated 30 million yuan (about 4.23 million U.S. dollars) in emergency funds for road rehabilitation in the northwestern provinces of Gansu and Qinghai, which were recently hit by a strong earthquake .

The new funds, jointly provided by the Ministries of Finance and Transport, will help the above regions restore roads affected by Monday night's earthquake.

Similarly, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development announced that it has dispatched a team of experts to earthquake-affected areas in Gansu to provide guidance and assistance in carrying out damage assessment of houses and facilities. Municipal and in the repair work on said facilities.
