The Ingolstadt Public Prosecutor's Office has closed the investigation related to the alleged attack on AfD leader Tino Chrupalla.
Chrupalla was hospitalized for health problems following an election campaign event on October 4 in Ingolstadt. Those present expressed suspicion of possible poisoning with a syringe. The politician felt nausea, dizziness and headaches and was taken to a clinic.
The Public Prosecutor's Office began an investigation on suspicion of bodily injuries. However, the first laboratory results were unremarkable.
No “concrete evidence of injection or intoxication”
The Public Prosecutor's Office has now announced: “Extensive investigations have not revealed any clues as to how the 5 millimeter deep drilling in Chrupalla's right arm was created.” There are “no concrete indications of injection or intoxication”. It was also not possible to identify “an act from which it could be concluded that there was an 'attack'”.
The Public Prosecutor's Office relies, among other things, on a report by forensic doctors from Munich. Thus, fiber-like particles were found in the puncture channel, which would not be expected from a puncture with an injection needle. Investigators assume Chrupalla was stabbed in the arm with a pin.
The interviews revealed “no grounds for suspicion”
According to the Public Prosecutor's Office, there is no evidence that the AfD leader was injected with poison. Chrupalla's complaints after the incident were also against this.

Investigators said they evaluated ten video files and 42 image files. Some were made available by the television channels ZDF and Al Jazeera English, others were presented by witnesses through an online portal.
