Trip to Disney: You get the wrong gift cards and end up with $10,000 on Disney+ – TVA Nouvelles

An American family that wanted to buy prepaid cards for Disney theme parks in Florida instead received $10,000 in gift cards for the Disney+ television service after a mistake.

“Yes. We're offering the $10,000 Disney Plus streaming service. That's over 70 years of Disney+. We need help,” Andrea Coston, 41, said Monday in a video that went viral on TikTok about the New York Post reported.

In her video, which racked up more than 2.7 million views in two days, the Illinois mom explained that her parents allegedly bought $10,000 worth of prepaid Disney+ gift cards thinking they were about amusement park tickets that they could use to purchase tickets and restaurant reservations.

@aofthecoast Do I have a story for you? PLEASE HELP! Note that the buyer is unfamiliar with Disney Plus and doesn't know the difference! Honest mistake. It's not about financing the trip. It's all about finding someone who can help us transfer the money to the right gift card so we can make it to Disney! @Disney Parks @Disney+ @Disney #ohno #fail #disney #disneyworld #disneyplus #disneyfail #help ♬ Oh no – Kreepa

Except that the forty-year-old would have gone to their house a few days before departure to help them buy tickets for the 16 family members, as they were having difficulty entering the numbers online due to their scratched deck of cards. Gifts of $100 each.

Then she would have recognized the problem.

“We leave in six days and tickets to the park are selling out quickly because it's Christmas. My mom is upset, my dad is frustrated, and the kids are worried we won't be able to get into Disney. Does anyone know who could help?” the mother summarized in her video.

Along the way, the mother criticized the marketing of the cards because they were difficult to distinguish and pointed out that she was in disbelief that her parents were even allowed to buy “so many cards on streaming services,” according to the American newspaper.

Luckily, the woman hinted in a follow-up video that all is well for the family, while the company reportedly contacted her parents about converting the Disney+ gift cards into Disney Parks gift cards.

“I’m glad it’s solved,” she said, visibly grateful. I really hope this doesn’t happen to other people.”
