As CES 2024 draws ever closer, and given the launch of Intel Core Ultra SoCs last week and the launch of Nvidia 4000 Super graphics cards earlier this year, manufacturers are ready to update their PC lineups. In addition, a “Windows Report” blog post published this Monday, December 18, 2023, reveals all the information about the next HP Omen laptop: the Transcend 14.
An ultra-compact Omen gaming PC for 2024
After the controversy with the Galaxy Book 4, Windows Report ends the tension surrounding the HP Omen Transcend 14.
To appeal to gamers, the brand presents a very compact 14-inch model. A marketing image also ensures that it is “the lightest 14-inch gaming notebook in the world”. The information shared by the media reveals a weight of 1.637 kg and dimensions of 313 x 233.5 x 17.99 mm.
In terms of design, this new model is very similar to the HP Omen Transcend 16, but makes some changes to adapt to the 14-inch format. So we have two grilles at the rear for air circulation, while the 16-inch version also had side grilles.
The connectivity should also be lighter, but remains very comprehensive for an ultraportable:
- A Thunderbolt 4 (USB-C) port and a 3.5mm jack on the left edge;
- Two USB-A ports on the right edge;
- An HDMI port and Thunderbolt 4 (USB-C) on the back between the two ventilation slots.
As for the spec sheet, the HP Omen Transcend 14 features a 14-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 2880 x 1800 pixels and an adaptive refresh rate of 48-120 Hz; an Intel Core Ultra 7 155H or Intel Core Ultra 9 185H processor; an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050, 4060 or 4070 GPU; 16 or 32GB LPDDR5X 7467MHz RAM; 512GB, 1TB or 2TB PCIe 4 SSD; a 71Wh battery for a maximum autonomy of 11.5 hours and 140W fast charging; WLAN 7 with Bluetooth 5.4 or WLAN 6E with Bluetooth 5.3.
Windows Report concludes by stating that the HP Omen Transcend 14 “will be available in two colors: Shadow Black and Ceramic White.” Although the release date or price has not been announced yet, we expect the HP Omen Transcend 14 to be officially unveiled at CES 2024.
