The sexually deranged man who drugged women so he could film them while he raped them was a fan of images of abused women available on the Internet, according to an analysis of his cellphone just filed in court.

“There were photos of women being strangled, others of them being drowned in a bathtub. There is a series of hanged women, they are photos like this,” explained Mr. Jérôme Laflamme of the Crown this Wednesday at the Montreal courthouse.
Samuel Moderie, 28, standing in the dock, wore a surprised look as if to suggest he didn't know what the prosecutor was talking about. However, the police analyzes seem to be very clear: the sexual derangement had carried out such research online.
“The people who will judge the defendant should have access to this information,” the prosecutor said, explaining why he presented the document to the court.

This is because Moderie pleaded guilty last week to 23 counts of assaulting 13 women between July 2022 and last January. The vast majority of them were sexually abused while unconscious. The defendant took the opportunity to take photos and videos of the abuse, which he saved on his phone.
Very often Moderie used the same modus operandi. After meeting women on social networks such as Tinder, JALF and Badoo, he invited them for sex.
There he drugged her and then raped her while filming himself. He then kept the pictures on his phone. In some cases, Moderie even abused women while other people were in their homes.
However, the police put an end to this plan and Moderie has been imprisoned ever since. Facing overwhelming evidence, including the videos on his cell phone, he finally pleaded guilty last week.

But if he's already facing a hefty prison sentence, things could get even worse for him as the Crown plans to have him assessed to have him classified as a dangerous offender or long-term offender.
In this case, Moderie does not have to settle for a simple prison sentence. Once outside, he will then be closely monitored. And in a worst-case scenario, the Crown could even seek an “indeterminate” sentence, all but destroying his chances of ever getting out.
“We will take it step by step,” however, the crown softened. We will first carry out a psychiatric and sexological examination and see later.”
Moderie, who is currently incarcerated at Rivière-des-Prairies Asylum, will return to court in March for further proceedings. He is represented by Me Robert Bellefeuille.
