NHL: Michael Bublé regrets attending the 2011 Finals and here's why – Le Journal de Montréal

Famous Canadian singer Michael Bublé has very bitter memories of the Vancouver Canucks' 4-0 loss in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final in 2011.

The one who performed “Haven't Met You Yet” and “Feeling Good” in particular was present at Rogers Arena to witness this terrible disillusionment. He had also postponed a concert in Uncasville, Connecticut, until the next day in order to be present for this historic event.

Looking back, however, the 48-year-old regrets his decision.

“You know what? It was a mistake,” he explained during the “Spittin' Chiclets” podcast, via remarks to the New York Post. “I look back and if I had to do it again, I wouldn't have done it. I have canceled [le concert] in Connecticut. I mean, there were a few Bruins fans, but a lot of people didn't care [du match entre les Bruins et les Canucks]. So when I moved [le concert]I went back and that evening was really not good.”

In particular, Bublé says that several audience members left the room after his first song. The artist had also expressed his dissatisfaction to them by giving a middle finger to the camera in the arena where he was presenting his show.

“The first song was over and people just wanted to leave. This is not a joke,” the star continued.

However, things would certainly have been different if Alain Vigneault's men had won the game.

“You know what’s heartbreaking? If the Canucks had won, I probably would have thought it would have been worth it. But the fact that they lost really sucks.”

As a reminder, Bublé grew up a Canucks fan and was born in Burnaby, a suburb of Vancouver. He is also co-owner of the Vancouver Giants, who play in the Western Junior Hockey League.
