5 Seconds of Summer announce new album 5SOS5 and release first single Me, Myself & I
They have come a long way since beginning their careers in the humble suburbs of Sydney.
And on Thursday, 5 Seconds of Summer (5SOS) announced their fifth studio album, which will be released on September 23rd.
The band also released the first single from the album entitled Me, Myself & I.

The song, which is a breakup anthem, was produced and co-written by Jason Evigan, Pete Nappi, Jon Bellion and Mick Coogan.
The single’s new music video will premiere on YouTube on Saturday, May 14th at 7am.
5SOS frontman Luke Hemmings said “Me, Myself, and I” is a really exciting song for us on the record we’ve been working on for the past two years. We’re all big fans of Jon Bellion and his time and the idea, we bonded with it immediately.’

“So much of what we wrote lyrically was extremely introspective and this song fitted like a jigsaw puzzle piece to the rest of the album. We then ended it with Jon, Jason, Pete and Mick.”
He continued, “Me Myself and I explores the emotional cycle of feeling like you can do it all on your own and don’t need anyone, but eventually you realize that sometimes you push the best things in your life away.”
“We love this song and hope other people embrace it as much as we do.”

Meanwhile, the band’s new album will feature 19 tracks, also available in cassette and vinyl formats.
It comes as 5S0S prepares to tour Australia later this year.
They will perform in Perth on November 30th, Brisbane on December 2nd, Melbourne on December 4th, Gold Coast on December 6th and Newcastle on December 7th before performing in Sydney on December 9th and 10th end up.
