OCCUPIED WEST BANK, May 11 — The murder of Qatari broadcaster Al-Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Akleh by Israeli snipers in the occupied West Bank this Wednesday sparked condemnation from the media community and governments linked to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

First, the media office of the Palestinian government in the Gaza Strip condemned the “crime committed by the (Israeli) occupation in the assassination of journalist Sherine Abu Aqleh,” stressing that “what the occupation has done is a full-fledged crime and the culmination of a long history of attacks.” on journalists.
According to the Palestinian government, “Today’s crimes confirm the criminal behavior of the occupiers and violate all conventions that guarantee unhindered media coverage, and the occupying soldiers would not have reached this level of criminality had they not been convinced that they… escape from responsibility and punishment.”
The Al Jazeera Media Network, for its part, blamed the Israeli government and the Israeli occupying forces for Shireen’s murder. The Hamas Islamic resistance movement condemned the assassination of Shireen Abu Aqleh, calling it “a crime of assassination and premeditated murder of all journalists and media professionals who disseminate the reality of reality and the systematic terrorism to which the Palestinian people are subjected.”
