Two Quebec women arrested for assault in Beauce –

Two Quebec women have been arrested in connection with an armed attack on November 20 in Saint-Georges in Beauce.

The Sûreté du Québec Major Crimes Investigation Unit made these arrests on Wednesday in collaboration with police officers from the Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ).

The incident occurred at an apartment on 129th Street around 8:30 p.m. The accommodation in question is just a few steps away from the courtyard of the Aquarelle primary school.

A person in their 20s was injured. His life is not threatened. The circumstances and motive were not disclosed.

Serious bodily harm

Mélissa Major, 33, and Audrey Lessard, 27, both of Quebec, appeared at the Quebec courthouse on three firearms-related charges and one count of aggravated assault.

The two defendants do not appear to have a history of similar matters.

The investigation is ongoing. Additional arrests could be made in connection with various incidents of armed violence that have occurred in the Quebec region in recent weeks.
